About Huebner Oaks Veterinary Hospital
In case of an emergency, please contact our 24 hour facility, VitalPet Town & Country Veterinary Care Bandera Road Hospital, 10350 Bandera Road, Ste 100, San Antonio, TX 78250, 210-684-1448.
Huebner Oaks Veterinary Hospital was established in 2001. The hospital was formerly Colonies North Animal Hospital, which had been established in 1966. Dr. Marc Zieben graduated from Texas A&M University in 1984 and then came to San Antonio to work for Dr. Gerald Parker. Dr. Zieben and his wife, Morna, purchased the hospital in 1990. Since then he has been the determining factor in turning the practice into the state of the art hospital it is today.
Our knowledgeable staff is full of caring and compassionate animal lovers who all greatly enjoy their chosen profession. Here at Huebner Oaks Veterinary Hospital we offer full service veterinary care, including vaccinations, preventative and emergency care as well as a full service boarding kennel. Our doctors are trained in all aspects of small animal surgery, internal medicine, radiology, ultrasound technology and endoscopy. Our clients and their beloved pet friends are always our number one priority.
Samantha Alvarez, Practice Manager
Samantha has been in the veterinary field for about 10 years and has been working at VitalPet Huebner Oaks for the past 4.5 years. Throughout the years she has learned valuable information about the love and care animals need to live a happy and healthy life and is always eager to share her knowledge with new owners. She has 2 cats (MooMoo & Hailey) a dog (Zephyr) and a koi fish (Stormy). In addition to spending most of her time at the veterinary clinic, she also enjoys being outdoors, running, hiking, camping, swimming and reading.
John Negrete, Technician
My name is John and I have worked in the field about 8 years and I love what I do. When not at work I spend my time with my wife Crystal and daughter Judith. I have 2 pets, a pit-bull terrier mix named Aiden and a Maine Coon named Sardine. My interests outside of work include creating fine and digital arts.
Shayna Bias, Groomer
Shayna has a true passion for grooming and styling pets. She loves pampering her furry friends with a great spa experience. Shayna is a proud registered member of the National Dog Groomers Association of America. She spends her time at home with her two beautiful boys. Her boys keep her pretty busy, but when she gets time for herself, she enjoys reading a good book or a game of backgammon.
Crystal Negrete, Receptionist
My name is Crystal. I have been in the Veterinary field for a little over 7 years now and I love it. I can't imagine working in an environment without animals. Toby (our clinic bird) is very special to me. He loves animals as much as we do. I have a 2-year-old pit bull mix named Aiden who I took in as a stray and a 5-year-old maine coon mix named Sardine. I love to spend my free time with my husband John and our 6-year-old daughter Judith. I have been in the veterinary field her whole life so she loves animals just as much as I do and wants to rescue every stray animal she sees. For the time being she would like to be a Veterinarian when she grows up or a professional wrestler. I am pregnant with baby #2 and can't wait for her to join us.
Megan Ramirez, Technician
Megan lives in San Antonio with her husband and 18 month old son. Her family also includes 2 cats, a Boxer, and an American Pit Bull Terrier. She began working in a veterinary clinic in 1995 and has been with Huebner Oaks Veterinary Hospital since 2005. She has a passion for teaching, in addition to her passion for animals, and is a certified middle school Math teacher for the State of Texas. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her son, playing piano, arts and crafts, crochet, and photography.
Kelly Byrd, Technician
Kelly is a new addition to Huebner Oaks as of March 2013. She has cared for many animals over the last 12 years as a veterinary technician all over central Texas. Currently, she is studying to become an RN, giving the human medical field a shot.
