About Huebner Oaks Veterinary Hospital
In case of emergency after hours, call the Emergency Pet Clinic on Broadway and Loop 410 at 822-2873 OR Emergency Pet Clinic on E.Sonterra Blvd at 404-2873. Regular appointments are scheduled between 8 am and noon and then between 2:30 p.m. and 6:00 pm Monday thru Friday.
Huebner Oaks Veterinary Hospital was established in 2001. The hospital was formerly Colonies North Animal Hospital, which had been established in 1966. Dr. Marc Zieben graduated from Texas A&M University in 1984 and then came to San Antonio to work for Dr. Gerald Parker. Dr. Zieben and his wife, Morna, purchased the hospital in 1990. Since then he has been the determining factor in turning the practice into the state of the art hospital it is today.
Doctors that practice at our hospital include Dr. Michelle Wright, also a Texas A&M graduate who comes from a long family heritage of outstanding veterinarians. Dr. Amy Lewis, sees not only our four legged companions but also our scaled and feathered friends. Dr. Eric Schmeltzer graduated in 1990 from the University of Illinois and always makes clients and pets feel at home with his easy going nature.
Our knowledgeable staff is full of caring and compassionate animal lovers who all greatly enjoy their chosen profession. Here at Huebner Oaks Veterinary Hospital we offer full service veterinary care, including vaccinations, preventative and emergency care as well as a full service boarding kennel. Our doctors are trained in all aspects of small animal surgery, internal medicine, radiology, ultrasound technology and endoscopy. Our clients and their beloved pet friends are always our number one priority.

Jacob Zieben
Jacob enjoys soccer and tennis. He loves science especially physics. He is a sophomore at Texas A&M, working toward pre-med.
Melissa Abel
Melissa's 6 year old son is her life! She has a pug, golden retreiver and 4 cats. She has been a working as a kennel technician for 10 years . She thinks working with animals everyday is the greatest. Her husband is a Veterinary Technician also , which by the way is how they met. They are one big animal loving family. She hopes to see her son become a Veterinarian so his old parents can work for him.
John Negrete
John is a native of San Antonio. He has worked in the veterinary profession for 6 years and enjoys every minute of it. His interests outside of work are spending time with his wife and daughter, and creating fine and digital arts.
Therese Gavin
Therese enjoys spending time with her 2 dogs and 2 turtles. She likes to bake, travel, penquins, and spending time with friends. She is studying pre-veterinary biology at Baylor University.
Venessa Cardona
Vannessa's family and pets are her hobbies! she has 2 dogs Myrtle and Zeus and 2 kitties Applehead and Mister. They are all a handful but they make her life complete.
Dawn Leyendecker
Dawn loves her husband and reading. She spends a lot of time outdoors with their 2 horses. They also have 3 dogs, 5 cats and a large tortoise.
Samantha Alvarez
Samantha enjoys spending time with family and friends. She also loves too spend some of her free time with her kitties and taking her dog on walks.
Ashlea
Ashlea is married and a student. She enjoys readinh, swimming and spending time with her husband and dogs.
Keleigh
Keleigh enjoys taking care of all her furry friends in the morning and meeting their parents in the afternoon, and working at the emergency hospital by night. She has a very large family of 2 dogs and 5 cats. She is working on her Chemical Engineering degree and hopes to teach one day.
